Why Doctors Hate Chiropractors: "- Sent using Google Toolbar"
I've worked in harmony with many medical doctors. There is still much misinformation in the medial field about chiropractic and how it helps people. I don't like the back pain box because I know what I do does more than that. Chiropractors need to be thoroughly versed in neurology because that in fact is what chiropractic is. And they need to be able to explain what they do in medical terms if they want medical referrals. Research has improved vastly in the last 10 years but lags very much behind. This is the key to mutual cooperation. I also believe that the younger MDs are more willing to go CAM than their older counterparts.
Most doctors don't hate chiropractors. First they don't know what it is. Secondly they don't know any chiropractors to refer to. The time is ripe for education! The patients are tired of pills and surgery. They're tired of being told "you just have to live with it" or "no one really knows why you're in pain". We have the answers and the world needs to know.

Perhaps you are right. Once an MD gets it their fear of chiropractic fades away. This is even true with older Md's, that is once they allow themselves to actually speak to a chiropractor.
Most of the time an MD is told stories about chiropractors that have no merit or basis in fact. Yet the sources providing these abhorrent misrepresentations have perceived credibility because they have paid for the PR providing them with credibility. Money Talks.
The MD is now finally understanding the toxic influence the Pharmaceutical industry has on their profession. They are also beginning to understand that when the pharmaceutical industry collapses their profession will have big problems. Public perception of their profession being the first domino to fall as the PR machine financed by the pharmaceutical industry will no longer shield their profession from public scrutiny. Once the money from pharmaceutical advertising is gone the truth that such funding was meant to suppress will surface and the domino effect will accelerate and become a fire storm of questions no MD is equipped to answer and not look ridiculous.
In effect the smart ones will latch onto a chiropractor as a life line. Others may even become chiropractors once the falsehoods of their chosen profession have been made public.
Chiropractic will come out of this smelling like a bloody rose.
