Suffocating head lice works in new treatment

People have tried many ways to kill head lice including attempted suffocation with various oils like mayonnaise and petroleum oil. Lice are remarkably well equipped to combat this treatment. They simply take a deep breathe and batten down the hatches by closing their spiracles, the entry point to their breathing system. In the meantime they have become resistant to the many drug treatments that have been thrown at them.

But now a new way to suffocate them has been developed and it's 92% effective. Even better it's non-toxic. By using benzyl alcohol lotion stuns the spiracles and prevents them from closing. This allows mineral oil and other ingredients to enter their breathing apparatus and kill them.

New Synthetic Magnesium Supplement Improves Memory And Staves Off Age-Related Memory Loss

Researchers have developed a new form of magnesium. What's so special about it? This one crosses the blood brain barrier, a selective barrier the brain uses to keep certain molecules out. We want magnesium in our brains to promote plasticity and boost brain function. Most of us are magnesium deficient and most magnesium supplements today are not worth much im comparison to this new form.

This new magnesium has not yet hit the market. In the meantime get it the old fashioned way " by eating lots of green leaves, broccoli, almonds, cashews and fruit."

Erica Heinz: Stress Less, Restore More

Napping Boosts Brain Power

The researchers found that an hour's nap can dramatically boost and restore brain power: it not only refreshes the mind, but can make you smarter, they suggest.

Napping Boosts Brain Power

I would like to know what their levels of neurotransmitters were before and after the nap. These days we're always pushing ourselves beyond normal limits with not enough sleep and too much stress. Our brains never have an opportunity to rest. This is critical towards good health.

Debug Yourself Naturally

An excellent article on improving your immune system.

Ronald Goldman, MD, co-founder of the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine: "Chronic infection is a vastly underestimated cause of disease and disability. The public needs to be mindful that low-grade infections are estimated to potentially reduce the healthy human lifespan by up to 20 years, robbing them of a lifetime of bountiful energy, productivity, and happiness. Bacteria, fungi, viruses, and parasites may well be the single most important yet undiscovered cause of premature aging and the chronic degenerative disorders of aging that now plague Americans."

Study Links Sugary Soft Drinks to Pancreatic Cancer - Cancer - FOXNews.com

Artificially sweetened diet drinks also raise insulin levels and provoke the pancreas, maybe even more than sugared beverages. Sweeteners like Sucralose are far sweeter than sugar and trigger huge releases of insulin. Insulin, besides regulating blood sugar, also is a fat storage hormone. The more insulin you have in blood circulation the fatter you'll be. That's the cruel joke of "diet" drinks. When was the last time you saw someone lose weight drinking diet soda?

New Treatment For Chronic Pain Condition

Here's a very interesting study involving pain. Patients usually are driven into the office by some sort of pain or discomfort. They often logically ask how long it will be before they feel better. This is difficult to say for me as the doctor for many reasons. Sure I could spit out some statistics but I prefer to view everyone as a unique individual. Everyone will have a different response unique to themselves.

According to this study some pain patients will experience pain so severe after the injury has healed that they request amputation of a limb! And even then the pain does not leave with pain medications being no help either.

This study backs up the most difficult lesson I try to teach my patients. Pain is not an indication of what sort of condition you're in. One could be healed of an injury and be in tremendous pain. Or one could be totally pain free and have an insidious cancer growing inside of them.

What you should be most concerned about is function. To find out how you're functioning you need to work with someone who knows how to evaluate and demonstrate your function to you. This will tell you where you're currently holding and where you might be headed. You will be able to notice immediate differences.
