FDA: Arthritis drugs pose cancer risk to children

Today the FDA reported that a class of drugs call TNF Blockers can lead to cancer in children. These drugs are used to treat juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, the inflammatory bowel disorder, Crohn’s disease, and other inflammatory diseases.

Are we finally ready to take a look at some non-drug interventions? First we have to ask some good questions. Why do so many children suffer from arthritis? Diseases of the old are now in the domain of the young. Arthritis, cancer, diabetes, osteoporosis. These diseases are supposed to take decades to develop. Why are our young people getting them? There are much better ways than taking a drug for these problems. The answer is simple but requires just a little bit more effort than relying on a pill! Are we willing to eat right, sleep right, and excercise just a bit? Just that alone would go such a long way towards better health.
