Many people are now familiar with the stress hormone cortisol. The most common method of testing is with a single blood test. Lately a four sample salivary test has become more popular as a means of measuring cortisol levels throughout the day. Now researchers have developed a hair cortisol test which can measure levels over a period of up to 10 months. This test is not yet available to the public but it will one day be the most comprehensive way of testing long term cortisol levels around.
